Mrs. Nancy’s
News! August 9, 2019
We made it! J What an exciting and busy first three
days of school! We have enjoyed getting to
know one another. They are all so sweet
and trying their best. The first three days were spent learning school
guidelines and practicing many procedures (lining up, bathroom,
lunchroom, and dismissal). They have
learned so much and the adjustment is going smoothly. We began our color word
unit with the color word “red”. We are
learning to recognize the words in print and locate them in stories and
sentences. Reminders:
- Please
remember to send a water bottle with your child’s name or initials on it every
day.
- Please check your child’s book
bag daily for the green daily folder and rocket card. It is very important to return the green
folder every day along with the rocket card. If the card is not in the folder, a
“Rocket Goal” sheet will be in the pocket. Please read and discuss the
“Rocket Goal” sheet with your child.
The beginning of kindergarten is a time of transition from Pre-K. We are learning guidelines and
procedures and if your child should bring home a goal sheet, please take
time to discuss school expectations and guidelines. I always assure the children that each
day is a new day with a fresh start.
It is very important that we are partners in your child’s
educational experience.
- The temperature in the class can
at times feel a little colder than what may be comfortable for your child. Please send a jacket or sweater that
your child can keep in the backpack for those times when it is cooler in
the room.
